Physician (Radiation oncologists) at TMU Proton Center lead and oversee the entire proton therapy process for cancer patients. They carefully evaluate each patient’s condition, including the stage and location of the cancer, to create personalized treatment plans. While radiation therapists administer the treatments, radiation oncologists supervise to ensure accuracy and safety. They closely monitor patient responses and side effects, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
After treatment, comprehensive follow-up care is provided. This includes regular monitoring to check if the cancer has returned and managing any long-term side effects. The team collaborates with other medical specialists to provide complete care. Additionally, radiation oncologists actively participate in research aimed at reducing side effects and improving patient outcomes.
